The first documents mentioning Volpaia date back to 1172, where today organice wines are produced. Since 1172 in Volpaia great Chianti Classico have been produced in organic farming. Already included among the three best wines in the world by Wine Spectator Volpaia is known throughout the world for the beauty of its cellars hidden in the walls of the ancient fortified village.
