The Estates

Prelius is the Roman name for a historic coastal lake that was already at the centre of a prosperous settlement tied to fishing, trading, and agriculture during the period of the Etruscans.

The lake stretched from the Argentario promontory to Castiglione della Pescaia, isolated from the sea by a short sandy tongue where the magnificent Grosseto pine forest is currently growing.

3 kilometers from Castiglione, along the slopes of the mountainous amphitheater that lapped the lake, is the locality of Prile, where our vines are born, from which we obtain the Prelius-Castelprile wines.
