The 2024 vintage was marked by strong weather fluctuations: it opened with an early bud burst caused by a warm, rainy winter. Spring was cool and wet, while summer was characterized by very high temperatures and severe drought. Only at the end of August did the first rains fall, followed by a temperate September with several rainy events.

History of wine

The freshness and savory character of Maremma are reflected in the Volpaia Vermentino Superiore 2024. Grown on sandy‑clayey soils, the grape benefits from a south‑south‑east exposure and an intense summer climate, followed by autumn rains that balance the ripening. Aged in French oak barrels with whole‑berry lees, the wine presents aromas of aromatic herbs, field flowers and sweet spices, with an almond finish that accentuates its long, savory harmony.
